I had the honor of working with Andy when I was assigned to the fightin' 9th in 1974. I vividly remember that Andy was a consummate gentleman who carried a textbook with him on patrol because he was going to school. We used tohave coffee on Avenue A and just talk about many things. He was A great guy-a class act.

I had the honor and privilege of fillin in with Andy in the 40/42 "House of Worship Car" before he went to the 9th. In 7/'75 I was lucky enough to run into Andy in front of the 40. We socialized a bit and had a few laughs. What a great guy and a great cop.

I met Andy when I was a port Authority police officer and we became friends. When I joined the NYPD I first worked at the 90 Pct., in the Willaimsburg Section of Brooklyn. I lived in the Lower East not far from the 9th Pct where Andy worked as a member of the 9th anticrime unit. I had information of the Avilez's gang members that were committing robberies in the vicinity of the 9th. and 90 Pct. I told my commanding officer about the gangs activities, and he just told me, " let the f**ks kill each other. I then went to Andy, and he arranged for me to talk to his commanding officer. Like my boos, he had the same attitude that this was not Park Ave., so let the f**ks kill each other." well, f**ks just don't kill each other I told them. Some day a cop is going to run into one of these bad boys, and get hurt. I then received information of an impending bank robbery. Again it went into deaf ears. The rest is history. The driver Glover and reddy pulled over was a gang member wanted for bank robbery. One of the members I was investigating and trying to tell the bosses about. I honor Andy Glover at my Web site 10-13 Officer down at: www.bluewallnypd.com Please check out and sign guest book.

The irony of this tragedy is that the officer killed along with Sgt. Frederick Reddy, was Andrew Glover. And all becasue of the laziness and uncaring bosses of the NYPD. I've been leaving with this for 30 years from the Lower East Side of Manhattan to my home in Deltona, Florida. God bless our troops and law enforcement officers.

My mother was a very close friend of Andy's. I was only 9 years old when he was shot, but, I believe they were "dating" at the time. I remember lying in bed hearing my mother cry when she heard the news that he had been shot . I remember that day as if it happened yesterday. His funeral was an experience I will never forget. To see the comraderie of the NPYD was remarkable! Andy was truly a gem. I am 41 years old and still think of him. I hope his family is doing well and pray that he continues to rest in peace.

I had the privilege of working with Andy in TPF in the late 60's. I ran into Andy one night in the 9th and he tells me "Kojak" is filming up in the squad. I was so happy to see him and shortly after that night he was killed making a car stop. A tragic loss for everyone. He was truly a great guy, one of the real good guys.

I and my partner that night, were the last to see Andy and Fred before the 13 came over the air. We were the first on the scene, saw Andy but not Fred, scooped him and off to Bellevue to no avail. The medical staff at Bellevue that night fought the devel with the fury of super humans, but lost. Two finer men walking this earth would be hard to find,my thoughts and prayers are still with you as I,m sure they will always be Charlie Hall

I worked with both Andy and Sgt Reddy in the 9th Pct.'s NPT. I last saw them alive, less than an hour before the shooting, at Bellevue Hospital, where my partner, George Gibbons had an aided case. We served in the Honor Guard at Sgt. Reddy's wake. Like their memory, the events of that night will never leave me. GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN.

I worked briefly with Andy at the Bronx Task Force in 1970. The last time I saw Andy was at the wake for Waverly Jones several months before his own death.

Worked a number of tours in an RMP with Andy in the 40 Pct...Great guy, happly go lucky attitude BUT come time for nitty gritty work he was great cop.Far too often the good deeds of lots of good cops go unnoticed until after they are gone. I was in the new 9 Station House after retiring...Told the TS I was "retired MOS" and waited in lobby for a UF61. I saw Andy's plaque on the wall..Went over, touched it...Young TS guy said "You probably don't know any of those guys from way back, before your time, right ??....I replied I worked with ANdy a number of times in the 40 Pct & went to the funerals of the 9 Pct guys ambushed by the BLA. Other cops nearby overheard our brief conversation...The silence that followed on their behalf seemed be in reverence to the fallen MOS on the wall...Some random retiree coming in who had known/worked with one of the fallen heros may have added a human touch to a plaque on the wall...Mel Delaney, Retired NYPD Lt...

Andy I think of you always. I was one of first Det's on the scene that night. About an hour before that we were talking in the 9th Sqd office about getting off and hanging out after work an hour after that meeting unfortunately you met an untimely death I will always miss you, your friend Joe B

Andy was my partner for about six months in the 9th pct. We were assigned to a fix post, working 6 to 2 am on 12 street between ave C and ave D. He was a great guy and very fair.

Andy and I walked a foot post on Av B , when Foster and Laurie were killed on the 6X2 on 11th and B - Andy and I were working the same post alternately on 10x6 If I remember we worked the scooter chart , I think of him and Fred Reddy our boss of the NPT every time another of our ranks is assasinated -

Three years after the assassination of Foster and Laurie, a plaque was dedicated at the site of their deaths. It is ironic that Sgt Leddy, their squad Sgt, was the person to deliver the sad eulogy and he did a great job.

My error - The plaque in memory of Foster and Laurie was dedicated sooner than three years after their death. I confused the time period with that of when Glover and Reddy were killed. My apology.
