I believe that this is my fathers great uncle, that is the brother of his Grandmother. On the day of his death he was on his way to meet his nephew Micheal Stenson (my fathers uncle) who was visting from Tubbercurry Co Sligo and another relative of mine John Stenson, who was then living in New York. I find it an honour to know that a relative of ours was not only a member of the NYPD but also lay his life down in his job. If he had a family and there are descendants I would love to make contact.

Correct me if I am wrong but I believe that Ptl John G Walsh died in Bellevue Hospital NYC as a result of gun shot wounds during a robbery.I was born in Bellevue Hospital in the early hours of Jan 22,1932.By some strange coincidence I always wanted to be a Police Officer, which I became/Nov 1957
