| Officer Sheares was stabbed to death on West 153rd Street while attempting to arrest a man for rape while off duty. The suspect stabbed him in the arm, chest, and abdomen. He was transported to Harlem Hospital where he succumbed to his wounds two days later.
Officer Sheares had been with the NYPD for three years. He was 31 years old. |
