David Kilpatrick was my grandfather. My mother, Marguerite Kilpatrick was only 19 yrs. old when he was shot down, but she always remembered him with great love.

David was my Great great Uncle. Although I never had the opportunity to meet him I am proud that he was one of New York's Police Department's finest. When the National Law Enforcement Memorial was being commissioned I made sure that his name was engraved on the monument.

Sgt Kilpatrick, you responded to cowards that were stealing another's property in their private sanctuary. Instead of being men and facing whatever came their way for their crime they shot and killed a man that was just doing his job protecting life and property. You will neve be forgotten. Rest in Peace David we pray for you.
