| ..I'll always remember Tony. He was a rookie who started his career in the 13 pct. Tony and his partner "Cowboy Roy" were always a team. I remember how he talked me out of one of my three lockers because he couldnt share a locker with 3 other rookies and that i should let him have one because it was the right thing to do, and i knew from that day on that this rookie was alright. I remember time after time he would ask me questions about the job and how to do this or that. I would pull up to tony and his partner on a cold winter day while they walked a footpost in the dead of winter and open the window of the patrol car and let him feel the heat telling him one day he might be in a car and how good it felt. Tony would smile and they would laugh it off. Tony was always smiling and would never complain about a post he was given for the day " he was the rookie". I remember having a beer at the local bar with tony and the other rookies, tony and his partner could be heard yelling from the other side of the room hey "old timer" got any war stories. When i left that pct there was tony again asking for my other locker for the rest of his gear and of course i gave it to him. I would run into tony here and there and we would talk about things, the job, his marriage, and remember past stories and events. A week before his death i introduced a friend of mind to tony down at court and and as always tony was all smiles and kidding me about still being on the job and we left shaking hands. Hearing of his death sent shivers thru me and to see the thousands that turned out for his funeral made me feel proud to have known and work with tony. He was a cops cop. He was truly a hero in every aspect of the word. He will always be remembered and he will never be forgotten thru the stories and memories shared by all that knew and work with him. May you rest in peace. | ||||

| Me and anthony grew up togeather. we both went to Island Trees H.S.and hung out with the same freinds, and both came on the job. he was liked by all and had no enemies. I would run into him at work once in a while, and at a court.I worked at Mid-Town North. there he was standing on baxter street talking to everyone and always smiling. I recently had our 20 yr H.S reunion where he was missed by all that know him.Anthony was the kind of person that everyone should have as a freind.every time i'm at court i think of him and remember his great personnality and humor. he will live in our hearts for ever. | ||||

| A good friend of the family Michael Kwasnicki, A man I conceder an uncle worked with Anthony in the 13. They did midnights together. My uncle told the same story Robert Crespi did about rolling up on Anthony and letting a little heat out of the window. Mike was off that night. He got the call at home. He took Anthony’s death hard. My uncle is gone now. We lost him last year. Now the Kwas and Anthony are together again. Patrolling the gates of heaven together. RIP PO Anthony M. Sanchez. God bless your soul and your family and the entire NYC Police Dept. | ||||
