He was my father, I have very little memory of him. I tried to follow his path into law enforcement. I am eager to hear if anyone remembers him.

While you may not remember him, you should believe that he guided your life by chosing to work in law enforcement. You serve Oceanside, just like he served New York.

i know only of the sad story of your father as i googled my own name. it is very strange to see your name sake deceased,it is personal, and it brings a sense of pride to me to know of your father. i was born in 1965 in martinez california, that is in the bay area of oakland/san francisko. i have always wanted to go and travel to new york and find the whole city fascinating. i don't know if this means any thing to you, but i feel a kind of kinship with him. odly enough my father died in 1966 when i was just a year and 10 months or so. my life turned out so differently than it would have. i trust for the best. thanks for your time, anthony balga!

You wouldn´t believe, but I heard of your father from my parents. We are in fact a family:) Anthony Balga was my grandgrandmother´s brother. I don´t know if you ever traced your family roots, but I can honestly tell you that your origins as far as I know are in SLOVAKIA....I guess you know that your grandmother (Ludmila Gasparekova, her maiden name was Balga) came from Slovakia as well. I am doing a research and I am trying to find my ancestors, what a coincident that I came across your name!!! I would be more than happy, if you were willing to answer this comment. I´m looking forward for your reply.. In case you would like to contact me, you can email me on to this address : januliatko17@azet.sk

Anthony Stephen Balga, Son of Anthony Balga passed away last week due to a heart attack. Lt. Balga retired from the Oceanside Police Department in 1995, where he was my friend and partner in several assignments. He spoke of his father and followed his footsteps on the job. Rest easy my friend.

I served with Patrolman Balga's son, Anthony Steven in Oceanside, CA for fifteen years. Tony was a good cop and I know his father would have been proud of his service and dedication. Tony was a good friend to me and I will miss him.

He is my biological grandfather. My mother Victoria was just a baby when he passed. I regret not being able to meet him, but have always held him and my grandmother in my heart. I know I will meet you some day.

While I was only two when my uncle passed away and only have the fuzziest of memories of him I know the story of his passing well. He was killed in the line of duty while in a pursuit. My dad always carried with him the newspaper article describing the incident and he was the one tasked with id'ing him at the hospital. This was a sad and traumatic tragedy with has affected our family to this day. I am comforted by the fact that these inseparable brothers are together again in heaven.
